Galatians

Lesson 10

Text: Galatians 5:1-12

  1. Choose Freedom,

    1. Bondage and Freedom,

      1. Free from Slavery,

        Deuteronomy 15:16&17 “And it shall be, if he say unto thee, I will not go away from thee; because he loveth thee and thine house, because he is well with thee; 17 Then thou shalt take an aul, and thrust it through his ear unto the door, and he shall be thy servant for ever.”

      2. Freedom, Liberty,

    2. Living By Faith,

      1. Righteousness comes by Faith,

        Genesis 15:6 “And he (Abraham) believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. ”

        Romans 4:2 “For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.”

      2. A Little Leaven,

          • John 17:20&21 “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.”

      3. Why Suffer for preaching,

Points for Home:

  • God never forces anyone to live in a certain way, however He does provide freedom, and lays out the option for us to choose how we will life. A life of freedom, or a life of bondage.

  • We cannot live in both worlds, the world of Grace and the world of Law. If we live under the law, we are under the entire law. If we live under Grace, then it is based in love and faith.

  • A little leaven corrupts the entire batch. This is why we must be diligent about even small things. All it takes for bad doctrine to enter is a small amount, and time to grow.
