Daniel Lesson 25
Daniel Lesson 25
Text: Daniel 12:5-13
-
Daniels Final Instructions, Vs.4-13
-
The Book, vs.4
-
Seal The Book,
-
this is a phrase of much concern to many,
-
and tho we do not understand all there is to know, we must take things in context,
-
as well as looking at them under the norm of the day and time they were written.
-
We know Daniel was a trusted man in the Persian empire,
-
he was a “wise man” left in charge of many, and held a trusted post in the government of Persia.
-
-
-
-
Daniel would have been accustom to receiving and giving orders.
-
By messengers, correspondence, in code as well as plain speech.
-
-
In the days of Daniel, there was a process to preserve the integrity of any witting,
-
that was to make two copies, one would be issued to the reader, the other sealed and stored away.
-
Jeremiah 32:1-12 speaks of the purchase of a field, and when the purchase was made, it was sealed up in a book, and on the day of redemption of the field, the book was unsealed, and presented to the elders there to confirm the writing of it.
-
vs.10&11 says this was done in accordance with the law, and the custom.
-
-
-
-
In this context, This is not hiding it away,
-
vs.10 of Daniel 12, does point out how knowledge and understanding will increase,
-
but this is contingent on the person who is willing to study, put in the effort, and depend on the Holy Spirit for the understanding.
-
-
-
-
Jesus confirmed,
-
Matthew 24:15 “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) ”
-
so Jesus was making the point that understanding can come from reading,
-
-
also look at:
-
Revelation 22:10 “And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.”
-
using the same wording, this time, the record stands for it’s self.
-
-
-
So II Timothy 3:16&17 is still true “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. ”

The Times, vs.5-7
-
The Two Angels,
-
standing on either side of the Tigris River,
-
the first one in linen, is most likely the same one found in Ch.10:5&6,
-
the per-incarnate Jesus Christ,
-
