Text: Daniel 4:1-27

1. The Hard Lessons,

   1. The King’s Dream,

      1. When did this take place?

      2. This is the second dream Nebuchadnezzar had,

         Ch.2:3 tells us he was “troubled”

         4:5 says he was “afraid”

      3. Increasing in knowledge but never learning,

         II Timothy 3:7 “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

   2. The King’s Danger,

      1. Pride,

         Proverbs 16:18 “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”

         James 4:6 “…Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”

      2. The Tree is You,

         See II Sam 12:7, I Kings 18:17, Isaiah 39, Mark 6:14-29

      4. You need to REPENT, vs.27

Isaiah 53:1 “Who hath believed our report ? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?”

John 12:37-40 “But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: 38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? 39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, 40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.”

Matthew 3:7&8 “But when he (John the Baptist) saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:”
